It was good to see so many of you at our May Club night – 25 people altogether. It was clear that everyone is looking forward to the prospect of warmer weather and the opportunity to use our cars. We were delighted to welcome two more new members: Hedley Turner and Carl Silcock.
Andrew and Brian went on a road trip to the Isle of Man and to the Donington Historic. It was great fun, driving the TT course, watching Manx Classic Events, visiting the Manx Motor Museum and attending the Donington Historic on the way home. I highly recommend it. We had 13 cars and 25 people attend the Pub Trawl event in May, one a stray a Lotus (TF in disguise!). This was a fun day out for drivers and navigators, planning the most efficient route through the countryside, finding various objectives and then arriving at our planned finish point for lunch at the Hare and Hounds at Old Warden. Everyone had a good time with Nigel Kitt and Maya finishing as worthy winners. Thank you to Mike Cornwell for his help in organising the day. Things are starting to get busy as we head into the warmer months. We will start our mid month pub runs during July. If you have a favourite hostelry, why not volunteer to organise an evening drive there for dinner? Make sure you come along to the club night to pick up the latest events that we’re planning to attend.
June and July will be busy with an international run to Spa Francorchamps, Cotswold Caper, New Forest Run, MG Live!, Kimbolton Country fair and Classic Car Show and the Silverstone Classic, to name a few.
