Enjoying MG August
I’m writing this at the end of July. Fortunately the heatwave has passed and we’re enjoying some pleasant driving weather.
This summer has been hectic for club members with groups heading abroad to France and Belgium, to
shows and displays as well as organised club runs.
As I’ve said before, it’s nice to see the club flourishing offering members a broad range of
activities for members to join in with.
So, for the international runs first. Malcolm and I went to Spa in Belgium to
watch the Summer Classic. It was fantastic with the some fantastic racing and
marvelous cars. Mike, Terry, Alan and Brian J went to the Le Mans Classic,
as well as Ron who went with his son. Apparently the racing was excellent
and the paddock walks exceptional.
Ian and Yvonne and Martin and Jackie have been on a number of MGOC tours, including the Cotswold Caper, New Forest Run.
Roger was planning to go to Laon, so we await an update from him. We had a group of members at the Kimbolton Show, which is a great event with a broad range of nice cars to see. Stephen has been a regular at the Oakley Classic,
a marvellous meeting, every fortnight.
Coming up we have members attending the MGB 60th Anniversary at Gaydon – we have at least THREE cars in the
formal Timeline Display – quite an achievement!
Goodwood Revival, Kop Hill Climb, Sywell Pistons and Props are all happening in September. Apologies if
I’ve missed any of your names. See you at the next Club Night
