November Club Night Natter and Future News Events
We had a good club night in November, with Roy Smith giving and excellent talk on Amedee Gordini, French racing driver, engineer and a bit of a lad! We also raised £38 for the Royal British Legion, particularly special in this
important anniversary year.
By the time you read this we will have had twenty two people attending our annual Christmas Dinner at the Inn on the Lake. Due to time constraints we will try to squeeze in an AGM on the same evening.
We really need all of your thoughts and ideas for events in 2019. If you’d like to be involved in the running of the club or any events, please let us know.
I’d like to particularly thank Ian Whipp for his steadfast efforts and particularly in the support he has given me in a challenging year.
We intend to run another of our popular Cobweb Dusters on January 1st. Join us for a pleasant drive, followed by sandwiches or a light lunch. Chat with your motoring pals, tell them about your most unexpected presents and how you survived playing Monopoly with your relatives.
In 2019 we already have members planning to go to Belgium to the Spa Six Hours and Summer Classic, to France to Monthlery Les Grandes Heures Automobile, Castle Combe and the Haynes Museum.
We will be doing regular trips to Jacks Hill Cafe and the Silverstone Social Club events. Other ideas include the Daventry Staverton Scalextric Centre, Air Rifle Shooting, Tour of Tring Brewery, a tour in Lincolnshire of the Bomber Command Museums and Memorials.
This is on top of the usual regular Mid Month Runs, Silverstone Classic, MGLive!, as well as the MK Classic Tour and regional events. 2019 is already promising to be a busy year for the club.
