Martin, Jackie, Yvonne & I did the South Downs run on Sunday the 5th but travelled down to Bognor Regis to a Premier Inn, on Saturday. We met Martin & Jackie at the Tot Hill services on the A34 Newbury a journey for us of 70 miles and a bit more for Martin & Jackie.
We then went via the A272 through Petersfield, Midhurst to Chichester and a great road for MG’s and bikes.
The run started at Whiteways Lodge, Arundal – a car and bikers café stop, then a very scenic route of 81 miles through the South Downs, which ended on Western Lawn Eastbourne, with the band playing swing & jazz.
The day was very hot and we were glad for some shade when we arrived, We did not see any breakdowns and believe most of those who started (200 in the entry list) finished, we may get an update from the club on the event.
We had sea view rooms in the Lansdowne Hotel and a great meal, then off for a good nights rest. In the morning after a good breakfast we used the A22 to Uckfield then picked up the A272 again for a good journey home.
We did a run of 433 miles, while Martin did 550, the cars behaved, as they should, ready now for the next run out.
It was great to see so many of you at our September Club Night and AGM. There was a real buzz about the place.
MK MGOC has already managed to complete some events since the change to “lockdown” rules.
However:
ACTION REQUIRED from everyone:
WILL YOU ALL PLEASE REPLY TO THIS E MAIL WITH YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE FROM THE CLUB / WHAT KIND OF EVENTS YOU WANT TO DO.

FINANCES:
I am extremely grateful to Ian Whipp for keeping the finances and website under control. Thank you Ian, it is much appreciated.
Ian presented an Audit Report covering the period November 2019 to July 2021 (Please let us know if you want a copy)
Key points:
Our finances have taken a pounding as we have had ongoing costs but no income from subscriptions, events or regalia (sweat shirts, polo shirts etc).
Our credit balance has dropped from £461.63 to £71.53
It was proposed and agreed that our subs would cover an extended period through to November 2022 but that members would pay £20 (to cover this longer period and help support our finances.
Please make sure you get your subs to Ian as soon as possible. BACS payments are possible – just let us know and we’ll send details.
(NB If you have any difficulty in paying the subs, please have a quiet word with Ian or myself, we want our club to be as inclusive as possible)
