Club News Update
Mike & Alison?s ?Little Lives? charity run in September was another great success, adding to the tens of thousands already raised. Starting at Woburn, through Canons Ashby and Sywell and finishing at Lavendon. The Neo Natal unit at Milton Keynes Hospital is dedicating a room to the ?MK Classic Tour?, for parents of premature babies.
Mike had another busy month, which continued in Switzerland on the 5th?for the?Alpine Challenge?. He achieved first in one event and third overall ? all in his MGB GT. The car performed brilliantly despite bending the exhaust after an abrupt landing. If anyone is interested in historic rallying, please talk to Mike
We also had members attending the Goodwood Revival ? Terry & Alan and saw the last two Lancasters flying. It may be the last chance to see these wonderful parts of our history flying together as one has to return to Canada shortly.
Brian went to the ?6 Hours of Spa? in Belgium with a small group. It was a fabulous event, focused on racing, with huge grids of beautiful historic cars. It also allows access to almost all areas so you can really get involved in the racing experience. The racing itself was thrilling but I have to save my praises for the track itself which is demanding for drivers but with great visibility for spectators. James Simons was there, looking after a couple of racing teams. His crew were based in one of the new Formula 1 pits. James looks set to be the next Ross Brawn
There was a great deal of praise for Pistons & Props at Sywell. Considering that this is only its second year, it is becoming a ?must see? in the classic calendar.
Upcoming Events:
The winter months are traditionally a quiet period for classic clubs, however everyone seemed keen to maintain activities throughout the rest of the year. So please check the events page
