Thank you to everyone who came along to our club night this month. We had a great turnout, despite having six members on a trip to the Isle of Wight.

June Run to New Forest and IoW
On the 3rd June club members Jackie & Martin, Sue & Dave, Yvonne & I attended the 20th Anniversary New Forest run and met up with friends Ashley and Nick from Torquay the previous year. The run and weather was great and the number of new foals lovely. Sue & Dave won one of the main prizes a selection of beers, plus a clock and wine. Yvonne and Jackie also won prizes, so I expect we will be barred next year.
On Monday we all caught the ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth on the IoW and then on to Bembridge for a few days at Warner’s. The venue, food, entertainment, facilities and accommodation was excellent and would recommend this way of visiting the island to any member.
The IoW club gave us a route around the island and suggestions for places of interest and food stops. We did the usual things, such as Alum Bay and a boat ride to the Needles and glass factory, then on the Thursday we visited Osborne House and its gardens.
The only problem we had was my car, we had just viewed Culver Down a viewing point and crossed a number of cattle grids, then on the way to the Garlic Farm trouble struck! On climbing Bully Hill a steep climb with a sharp bend half way up, the motor stopped, I could not roll downhill because of traffic and was in a dodgy position. A kind “man in a van” stopped and towed me up hill to the car park, where I discovered the petrol pump had vibrated out of its clamp and a spade clip had come of the pump. Martin arrived and we re-connected the connection and pump into the clamp, sorted!! The trip home went well with all arriving safely with no more issues.

May Events & Pictures
In May some the club members enjoyed a few MG club events and our Pub Hunt on the 27th.
The Kimber Run on the 13th gave a great run from RAF Cosford around Shropshire, really good route and views and the museum very interesting.
The 20th was the Rose of the Shires, a 70 mile run starting from Old Grammarians Memorial Sports Field, Wellingborough finishing at Royal Ordnance Depot, Weedon.
Then on the 27th we had our clubs annual Pub Trawl, starting at Harrold Country Park coffee shop and taking various routes to finish at the Wheatsheaf, Perry. A great time was had by all who participated, with great food at the pub.
April – MK Classic & Picture
In April we had Mike and Alisions MK Classic, another fantastic event that raised over £8k for Little Lives Appeal for MK Hospital. After the start from Poplars garden centre and Millbrook, a visit to Holdenby House and a finish at BRDC Silverstone saw another successful event.

May 27th Club Event “Pub Trawl”
Hi everyone,
Thank you for signing up for the Pub Trawl. Jenny and I are looking forward to seeing you all. We now have 20 people who have committed to lunch at the Wheatsheaf in Perry with 19 doing the event.
We are meeting at the Inn on the Lake and then heading off in convoy to the country park at Harrold for a coffee stop while you receive your instructions.
Please let me know if you’re going straight to Harrold so we don’t wait for you at the Inn on the Lake.

March 7th Club Night Update
Hi All,
There were 18 members who up on Wednesday evening for to monthly natter night. March was a quiet month and the bad weather and snow did little to encourage anyone to get their beloved MG out.
Mike Cornwell arrived carrying new fluorescent yellow jerkins sporting the MK Tour logo on the back and the new updated parking lay-out for Poplars Garden Centre. These were handed out to members who will be MK Classic Tour Marshall’s on Sunday the 8th April, Mike intends to cover the event at next months club night natter and agree who does what. If your not yet involved or would like to attend check the club web site “News” page for January or the “Club Events” page for details and contact details.
We reviewed planned and booked events up to July as a number are already booked for various runs including the Spa Summer Classic on the 22nd to 24th June. Those not already involved in any runs should contact us at the club.
We have our annual club Fun Run on the 27th May,and members were encouraged to attend this great day out, Brian & I are saving up for the prizes for those who survive !!!
Later this month on the 22nd, we have our mid month club run out to The White Lion at Wicken, organised by Ken Garrett, there are places left and members should contact Ken on 07940 158666 • Mobile or email garrettkh@talktalk.net The run starts from the Inn On The Lake at 19;15hrs and goes via a village route.
Future runs were discussed with Nigel Kitt suggesting Duxford, he said he would investigate for the next meeting. Others events are Kimbolton again with Martin Billham looking into this for us, Jacks Cafe is another week night event to consider.
Brian should be back from his holiday very soon and will be at the next club night all fired up after another holiday!!!!

February Club Night Update
We welcomed three new members on the night, Ruth & Adam with a 73 BGT and Steve with a 69 B Roadster and MGF, a total of 17 being present.
Brian was not present as he’s on holiday but wanted to thank everyone for the kind messages of support during my recent unexpected visit to MK Hospital, he really did appreciate it very much. He cannot attend the next meeting either so you will have to put up with Martin & I for Marches meeting.
We have a lot of activities filling up the events calendar already, make sure you put the dates in your diaries. If you can support Brian & myself during busy periods will be appreciated.
All club members have received the forms via e-mail, if you have missed these please contact the club.
March;
We will have a mid-month run to the White Lion at Wicken. It is a lovely pub, suggested by Ken and the date agreed is the 22nd sign form for inclusion. Please respond via the e-mail if you wish to join and what food you would like.
April;

Is a busy month with MG Live at Silverstone on 2nd & 3rd
3rd we have the New Forest Run in Hampshire, three couples have booked at present and Roger Stevens and wife are going to apply. We have planned addition to this trip to include the IOW for 4 days at Warners Bembridge. if you’re interested get in touch.
3rd is also the London to Brighton run, Geoff and Liz are going.
We also have a mid week club Run too and on the 22nd to 24th it’s the Spa Summer Classic in Belgium

January Club Update
Hi everyone,
First of all, I would like to thank you for the kind messages of support during my recent unexpected visit to MK Hospital. Interestingly, the paramedic in the ambulance has an MGA that he is restoring, so I did my best
to recruit him as a member!
As I said at the AGM I shan’t be at the upcoming club nights due to travel commitments, so please give Ian Whipp your support. We have a lot of activities filling up the events calendar already, make sure you put the
dates in your diaries.
In March we will have a mid month run to the White Lion at Wicken. It is a lovely pub, proposed by Ken. The proposed dates are the 15th or 22nd. We’ll confirm numbers at our March club night.
In April we will be marshalling at the MK Classic Tour on Sunday 8th.
Marshals are still required, so of you are able to help please contact Mike Cornwell.
Sunday May 27th will be our annual club Fun Run. These are a fun day out in our MGs, testing our navigation and driving skills, as always we’ll finish will a nice lunch in a country pub.

January Club Night
January’s club night was just after our Cobweb Duster Run on the 1st and members commented on how good it was. Ian took the meeting as Brian was taken ill and was in MK Hospital, Mike had seen him and all wished him well for a quick recovery.
There were 16 members in attendance and items covered was Mike & Alison’s MK Classic Car Tour on Sunday 8th April. A copy of the poster and entry form are included in this post. Jackie, Yvonne and Sue covered their planned New Forest run which is on Sunday the 3rd of June and are now including a trip to the IOW on the Monday for four days of touring and staying at a Warners for entertainment. Geoff & Liz will try to attend the IOW also as they are doing the London to Brighton run. If your interested please contact us.
Christmas Dinner & January Update
December saw 21 members at the Inn on the Lake for our annual Christmas dinner. The evening was a great success with Ian being master of ceremonies for the evening, as Brian and Jenny had a previous engagement.
After a very good choice of meals served by Leigh’s and his team, all took part in a game of great skill and cunning with both Alison and Natasha winning a bottle of wine/champagne.
January 1st saw our annual Cobweb Duster Runout and a great chance to catch up with friends have some lunch. Some members visited Stoney Stratfords Classic January 1st meeting then travelled to the start at The Inn On The Lake. Mike Cornwell, once again prepared a gentle 20-25 mile cross country drive to build up our appetites, to the Old Red Lion in Great Brickhill, MK17 9AH. Over 20 members enjoyed the run and the pubs usual menu, including sandwiches / soups and some good classic pub meals. A great start to 2018.
