This was the second time we have done a C2C run, last years was to Seaburn in Sunderland which was excellent so we were looking forward to this one.
The start was again the Midland Hotel which is “Art Deco” featured in Pierrot over looking Morecambe Bay.
We left on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning in intervals of 10 minutes, some 40 cars using a 2018 route. This route crossed the Yorkshire moors, stunning scenery, with a morning stop at Ingleton, a pretty little village near Settle. We progressed by the Ribblehead Viaduct, a wonderful piece of engineering.
The lunch stop was at the Farmers Arms just past Catterick race course, then onto Goathland, “Heart Beat” country for tea, which some didn’t make.
We arrived in Scarbourgh after drivingĀ 175 miles to a noisy reception of sea gulls and a heatwave, the hotel had no air-con in the bed rooms.
