Enjoying MG:
It’s excellent to see so many events proposed and planned. During May we had 8 people attend the “Rose of the Shires”, taking us through beautiful Northamptonshire.
Ian and Yvonne & Martin & Jackie attended the “Moor to the Sea”, near Exeter and the “New Forest Run” we had Geoff/Liz, Dave/Sue & Yvonne/Ian.
We also had an intrepid group led by Ron and Daran that went to the Spa Classic in the Belgian Ardennes. The cars
behaved and everyone everyone enjoyed the event. Nurburgring next year?
In June we have people attending the Cotswold Caper, always a great event.
We plan to start our Summer Mid month runs in June, by the time your read this we will have been to the Lowndes Arms at Whaddon – scene of the Hotel Inspector! There is another large group planning to head to the June Bicester
Scramble, buy your tickets on line – they sell out fast! If you’re a member of the MGB Register you’ll know about the event at Shelsley Walsh.
At least ten cars are booked to go to the Kimbolton Country Fayre in July, speak to Martin to get your entry wristbands and to book a plot. Anyone going to the Silverstone Classic this year? We’ll head to the Swan at Bromham for our July Mid Month Run – thanks to Jackie for the suggestion.
August will see us go to the newly refurbished Plough at Simpson. The MGB Register Classic Car Summer Picnic will be at at Millets Farm Centre Frilford. Stephen recommends the August 4th Classic Car show at the Rufus Centre at Flitwick, tickets £4 and need to be bought in advance.
There is a NEW EVENT on August 18th – Organised by Mike and Alison. Classic Car event at Claydon House.
Marshals will be needed but why not join the run?
Dear All,
This evening as Brian was away in Italy Ian took the reins, it appears strange as every time this happens we have new members attend is there a reason ??

We covered the last months events and had feed back reports from the following runs, “Rose of the Shires (8 members), Moor to Sea (4 members), New Forest (6 members) and Spa Classic Belgian (2 members), members also attended “Castle Ashby”.
We covered the following forthcoming events from the list below, but require the two items replied to as soon as possible.
May’s Events attended by members:
“Rose of the Shires” > Brian/Jennie, Martin/Jackie, Dave/Sue & Ian/Yvonne

Enjoying MG:
Once again, April saw the club supporting the excellent Milton Keynes Classic Tour as marshals. It was a great day with nearly 170 cars taking part on.
Starting at Poplars, then onto the brilliant Millbrook Proving Ground, to Broughton Castle for a coffee and cake stop, finally finishing with a meal in the Wing at Silverstone.
Mike and Alison have asked me to pass on their gratitude to the marshals – as always, you were brilliant. The final sum to be donated to the Little Lives Charity will be known at the next meeting.
April continued with a sizeable party going to the Bicester Scramble on Drive It Day. What a great event. The tickets sold out very quickly, so make sure you buy your tickets early for the June event.
A few people went up to the Drive It Day event at Gaydon.
Over the next couple of months we will see members off on an international run to the Spa Classic in Belgium. Then we have members booked on the Rose of the Shires, Cotswold Caper, New Forest run and the Moor to the Sea. There is also the Chiltern Hills event on the 19th May.
Unfortunately MGLive! in June has been cancelled due to some problem at Silverstone. A great shame.
See you at club night.
Brian & Ian

Dear All,
I’m writing this at the end of January and am looking forward to the February club nights and a chance to catch up and talk about our plans for the year.
I’m also watching a flurry of snow outside which means more salt on the road delaying our cars from coming out of hibernation.
We will be continuing the MK MGOC year with a Curry Night on the 14th March, details will come out nearer the time.
In April we’ll get the driving season off to a great start by supporting the MK Classic Tour as marshal’s.
It’s an excellent event and raises lots of money for the Little Lives Charity. If you’d like to marshal, please speak to Mike.
There is the Bicester Heritage Scramble being held on Drive It Day on the 28th April, let’s try and get a big contingent to attend. Ken speaks highly of the Silverstone Social Club meeting, we’ll hopefully get a convoy
together to attend one evening.
We have lots of ideas for events throughout the summer, from international runs to Spa Francorchamps in Belgium to a weekender to the International Bomber Command Centre and a chance to see a Lancaster Bomber up close.
Bookings are underway for the runs organised by other MG clubs. These events are good fun and a great way to get use of your cars, If you’ve never done one of these events, why not have a chat with them and find out what you’re
missing. Make sure you come along to club nights with your ideas and join in the fun.
I’d also like to take this chance to wish Martin a speedy recovery from his imminent operation.
Looking forward to seeing all of your cars once the salt has washed off the roads.
Brian
It was great to see old friends and new at our Christmas Dinner at the Inn on the Lake. With 25 people it was a great
turnout and the pub looked after us very well, we also had a brief AGM after the meal.
No one new put their names forward as Club Secretary or Treasurer, so I guess that you’re stuck with me and Ian for another year! Joking aside, any help would be much appreciated. As you know I haven’t been able to dedicate
as much time to the club this year, so I’d particularly like to thank Ian Whipp for his great work.
Ian also gave out some fabulous calendars, everyone was delighted with them. I’d also like to thank Mike Cornwell for his support in planning routes and finding pubs.
We had our New Years Day Cobweb Duster run, Mike planned a 30 mile route and then we all met for lunch and the
chance to catch up and hear everyone’s tales of Christmas.
2019 will be a busy year for the club again. We’ll have a new calendar of events to discuss at the February meeting. Looking forward to seeing you there. All the best for 2019.
