Another great turnout for our April Club Night, thank you. It was good to see you all
The MG and classic motoring year is underway with many events being booked and a number already attended
Keep an eye on the events calendar on our website – there is something to tempt all MG and motoring fans.
The Oakley Classic Car meet has already begun. Terry and I went on the 12th April and met Stephen. There must have been at least 150 cars, it was great. Next event is on 26th April at Oakley. Strongly recommended.
Terry, Alan and Mike have already completed a run to Monaco, rounded off with a meal at the Auto mobile Club of Monaco. They experienced a fantastic route, with mountain passes, sunshine and snow. Mikes car enjoyed it so much it decided it would remain in France for an extra couple of weeks.
Phil is about to start his racing season in the MGOC series – in his ZR. The first event is on the 16th April at Brands Hatch. We should try and arrange a future run to support him.
Bicester Scramble is on the 23rd and 24th April. We’ve got a number of members attending and tickets are apparently still available.
The MK Classic Tour is on the 24th April. Organised by Mike and Alison in aid of the Little Lives Charity at MK Hospital. Yet another interesting route is planned for the 140+ cars booked. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to marshal – it is a great help.
The Rose of the Shires has been postponed to September, but members are attending the Charnwood Caper, Leicestershire instead.
June 3rd – 6th Laon Classic, France. Speak to Roger Garnham, who will be attending. It is a marvellous event.
June 12th New Forest Run (Yvonne & Ian, Jackie & Martin already booked)
June 23rd to 26th Spa Summer Classic at Spa Francorchamps, Belgium. Brian and Malcolm have already booked.
June 30th – 3rd July Le Mans Classic. As usual we will have a sizeable contingent attending.
July 10th Cotswold Caper (Y&I, J&M)
July 10th Kimbolton Show. This is an excellent static car show for all classics. We have provisionally booked 10 places for MK MGOC members. Please Let us know if you’d like to go so we can book enough places
September 25th Gaydon – 60th anniversary of the MGB (Run by MGCC & MGOC). We know there is a lot of interest in this event – it should be an exciting celebration of everything MG. As a club we have THREE cars that will be part of the MGB Timeline. Chris, Tony and Brian.
Alan has circulated details of an MG TD for sale. Please contact him direct if you’re interested.
We look forward to seeing you at our next MK MGOC Club Night on 4th May.
