News from June Club Night
We had another busy club night on 4th?June with 26 people meeting at the Inn on the Lake. We welcomed two couples from the Luton & Dunstable MGOC. They had generously brought us some free tickets for the Luton Festival of Transport. It looks like a big event so we should put it in the calendar for next year
In May we had the run to the Heritage Motor Museum as the Club Event. It was a great day out with a dozen cars travelling in convoy across to Warwickshire in the sunshine….but not before enjoying a cooked breakfast at the Super Sausage Cafe. The cafe made us very welcome and offered to cordon off an area of the car park for us in future.
Unfortunately we weren?t able to get enough entries to have the planned Hub & Spoke in June. We?ll postpone it and try and run it in July or even August. Possible alternative dates are Sunday 27th?July or Sunday 3rd?August.
On Wednesday 18th?June we will be having the first of our MID MONTH PUB RUNS. Terry has found a great pub with a restaurant for us. The plan is that we?ll meet at the Inn on the Lake at 6.30pm, setting off in convoy for the pub in Brill.
In July the main Club Event is the run to the Le Mans Classic. This year we have seven members attending. It is always an excellent event, so why think about joining us next year for our international run.
On Wednesday 16th?July we will be having the second of our MID MONTH PUB RUNS. Mike Cornwell has promised us a great pub. We will follow the same plan as previously in June. PLEASE PUT THE DATE IN YOUR DIARIES. We will send a reminder e mail closer to the time.
August will have a Mid Month Curry Night. Roger says he knows an exotic place, full of eastern promise. (OK, I admit he didn?t say that ? but we can dream!) Our curry nights have always been well attended so make sure you book the date.
In September we plan to have a Treasure Hunt style event on the 7th.
October ? IMPORTANT – the club night will be on the 8th?October not the 1st.
We have a very special event lined up.?Willy Cave, the world famous rally navigator, will be talking about his life in the navigator?s seat. Willy has been in international rallying since the 1950?s and worked for the BBC. His rallying career continues to this day.DON’T MISS IT!
Happy motoring
