January got off to a flying start with the New Years Day Run, with 11 cars on the run and 23 people at the Red Lion at Milton Bryan. The weather was pretty grim so we didn’t see many MGs. Everyone enjoyed the run, although the pub was disappointing, we’ll need to find a new one for next year.
We’re pleased to welcome new member, Geoff. He has recently acquired a MGB V8 Roadster. Looking forward to see (and hear) it in the warmer months. Club night was relatively quiet, so we ran through the events for the next couple of months. We have our February run to one of the new breweries – probably at Towcester. Mark Lowen is still hoping to get his flight simulator up and running for our February Mid month event. We should all get to “fly” a Spitfire and Boeing 737.
Roger is organising a Curry Night planned for the 23rd March. The plan is to have a pleasant drive through the countryside first, although you can go to the restaurant straight away. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to act as a Marshall for the MK Classic Tour. It will be an exciting day with 160 cars booked already. If you’d like to help by marshalling, please contact Brian or the club via e-mail.
Some of us have already booked to do an April run to the Isle of Man to drive the TT route, see the new 250 classic car museum and watch the Manx Classic. On the way home we’ll stop at Donington for two nights to watch the Donington Historic. If you’d like to join us, let Brian know and I’ll pass on the details. Keep your eye on the club website and events calendars, get the dates in your diary.
