Final Regency Run Brighton 8th May
Well Andrew, Colin, Yvonne and I survived the heat, cyclists and visitors to Brighton on Sunday for the final Regency Run.
We all met up at Kempton Park Racecourse for the 34th and final run, there were 323 entrants on the staring line up. The oldest was a 1925 MG Super Sports from Reading and the newest a 2016 MG3 from Horley.
There were two routes which split after 10 miles and we took the yellow route, which covered Box Hill, Ditchling and Ditchling Beacon, a mileage of 71 miles.
The run was quite picturesque but we did suffer from all the traffic and cyclist on the climbs to Box Hill and Ditchling Beacon, but we managed with out over heating.
We meet a couple from MK, Paul & Julia Gatland in a 2000, 1.8 MGF who said they will contact us with the view to join our club.
After refreshments and soaking up the atmosphere we made our way home from a heaving Brighton via the quieter “A” roads.
