Enjoying MG:
Firstly, the sad news that Lorraine Simons, wife of David Simons, our former
club secretary, has passed away. Lorraine was an active MK MGOC member,
regularly attending club nights with David and their son James, before their
relocation to Norfolk. She supported David in his Area Secretary role,
including inviting us to their home in Stanbridge. We send our condolences to
David, James and all the family. Hopefully, we will be able to see David some
time this year.
Thankfully, Stephen has finally had his operation and is recuperating with
his family.
As I write, it’s the 30th March, the sun is shining and yesterday we
reached Step 2 on the “roadmap out of lockdown”. Good news so far. I do
hope that we will be able to meet at the Inn on the Lake on the 5th May, we
may well have to sit outside and be served at tables. It seems that classic
car events are beginning to be rescheduled for dates in May onwards. I know
some of you are planning to do a number of runs planned by other MGOC areas.
I have a couple of tour routes worked out, hopefully we can use them after
the 17th May. Don’t forget the MK Classic Tour is on the 23rd May – Mike
and Alison will need marshals as usual.
I suspect I’m not the only one going bananas at home. So, get those cars
polished and serviced – we have a lot of catching up to do.
